happy halloweenie!

happy halloweenie! i love halloween! this is a metal sap bucket with a jack o' lantern cut in. i've had this for years and like to put orange lites in it to lite it up.

these are a few of my vintage halloween decorations. aren't they fun? i love the orange and black!

halloween is all about costumes and candy when you're a kid! when i was a kid we made our costumes out of whatever we could find around the house. we lived in the boonies and didn't go too far trick or treating! we only went to a few different neighbors' homes. my very favorite stop was my gramas. she lived about 2 miles from us and her home was our last stop. she made each of my brothers and sisters (there are 5 of us) a big bag full of candy! the highlight for me was the homemade popcorn balls! yummy! i'm not much for the costumes anymore but i still love halloween for the candy! and a good popcorn ball! may the tricks be few and the treats be many for you this halloween!

from rain to snow...

and today it snowed. not our first snow of the season, by any means! another snow! it lasted most of the morning and now we are left with patches of white. it feels cozy and peaceful to be inside while it snows. i looooove snow so i enjoyed it while it lasted. we'll see what tomorrow's weather brings. we know, living in south dakota, that our weather always changes.

another rainy autumn day...

it's another rainy autumn day here. we've had lots of those this year. makes me want to cozy up to the fireplace with my book. which i probably will do! i also want to work on some home and craft projects today. i looooove to craft and decorate our home. i made the leaf pillow above with a felted wool scarf and some other thrifted items. the wool blanket was a fun find at an antique shop. the pillow and blanket are in an old brown 5 gallon crock next to our fireplace. i hope your day is warm and cozy....

today's the day......

i am soooo excited! i am entering a brand new world! the blog world! i have been reading several different blogs for months now; ever since my very good friend, debbie, introduced me to the blog world! there are so many different blogs filled with beautiful writing and photographs, recipes, craft ideas, spiritual inspiration, and so much more. i was immediately smitten with blogging and i knew i wanted my own blog someday! today's the day.......
