peruvian daffodil...

this is a peruvian daffodil

that i bought,

as a bulb,

from my favorite

flower whisperer.

i've had this bulb

for a few years now,

and each year i

am more imressed!

the peruvian daffodil

is a tropical bulb.

it wouldn't like

our non-tropical winters

in south dakota

so mine is in a pot.

i take the pot outside

when the weather warms

and soon there

are leaves

and blooms.

~~~

the blooms are beautiful,
pure white and lily-like.
altho the blooms are beautiful,
the fragrance
of this peruvian daffodil
far outweigh the beauty!

i repotted the bulb
into a bigger pot
this year
and this is the first year
i've had 2 stems
of blooms!
~~~
before it freezes
i will bring the pot back inside.
i'll store it in our basement
until spring
and then bring it out,
once again,
for more incredibly fragrant blooms!
