the pumpkin patch...

i love my pumpkin patch!
~~~
actually, it's a squash
and pumpkin patch!
~~~
and while some
of the other veggies
are slowing down
the pumpkins and squash
are growing
and growing
on these hot summer days!
~~~
the squash and pumpkins leaves
vary in size and shape.
~~~
some even have a mottled coloring.
~~~
the backs of the leaves
and the vines are
rather rough
and prickly.
~~~
the vine's tendrils
and their curlicues
make their way
up and down,
over and around.
~~~
the bright and bold
gold blossoms
hide under
the canopy
of the leaves.
~~~
their sunny gold color
is a colorful contrast
to the grassy green leaves.
~~~
the bright blossoms
vary in size and shape
as the leaves do.
~~~
soon these bright beautiful blooms
will wither
and grow into
the different squash
and pumpkins
i'll harvest
later this autumn.
~~~~~
~~~
~
wishing you a bright and beautiful day!
